Faul to Faul Sale of Land 17th of June 1836 Recorded This act of sale made & entered into this seventeenth day of June one thousand eight hundred and thirty six, between John Faul of the State of Louisiana and parish of St. Landry of the first part and George Faul of the same State and parish of the other part witnesseth. That for the consideration hereinafter set forth, the said John Faul has bargained and sold & does by this act hereby grant bargain, sell, alien, convey, set over & deliver unto him the said George Faul, a certain tract or parcel of land situated in the said Parish & lying in the Prairie Grand Coteau bounded on the north by land of the sellor [sic], on the south by land of Patrick Woods, on the East by land of Charles Miller & on the West b the Widow of [blank] containing fifteen superficial arpents--To have and to hold the above described tract of land together with all and singular the appurtenances and privileges thereon to him the said George Faul his heirs & assigns forever---and the said John Faul for himself his heirs & assigns, the title of the above tract of land free from the lawful claims of all persons whatever, to him the said George Faul his heirs & assigns does hereby warrant and will forever defend--The above Sale is made for and in consideration of the price & sum of Five hundred dollars--payable one half in the month of August next 1836 & the other half in March next 1837. The Sellor [sic] hereby accepts two promissory notes for the said sum of Five hundred dollars & retains no mortgage on the premises above described. The purchaser dispenses with certificate required by the 3328th Article of the Louisiana Code. In testimony whereof the said parties have hereunto signed at Opelousas in presence of Caleb Green Jr. & Benoit Debaillon and before George King Parish Judge and ex-officio Notary Public in and for the aforesaid Parish of St. Landry the day & year above written-- John x Faul -- Witness Caleb Green Jr. --- Bt.
