Robertson of the State of Louisiana and Parish of Iberville became the purchaser some Years ago from Beloni Leblanc of the undivided half of a tract of land having three and one fourth arpens front by forty arpens in depth situated in the aforesaid Parish of Iberville and lying on the right, or upper bank of the Bayou known by the name of the Bayou Jacob or upper branch of the Bayou Plaquimine, which said undivided half of said tract of land was then the property of the late Francois Rivette deceased. And whereas the aforesaid sale has been ratified and confirmed by a family council and the under tutor of the children and heirs of the said Francois Rivette deceased, and Whereas the said William B. Robertson has paid to Mrs. [?] Sydonia Guidreau Widow of the said Francois Rivette now the wife of Pierre Bergeron, and mother and natural Tutrix of her minor children towit, Sydonie Rivette and Francois Oneal Rivette issue of her marriage with the said Francois Rivette, the full and entire amount of the purchase money for the aforesaid tract of land the receipt whereof she has, and does hereby acknowledge. Now therefore she the said Sydonise Guidreau acting herein by the Consent and authorization of her said husband Pierre Bergeron, has in consideration of the premises and does by this public act, as natural Tutrix of her aforesaid children, release the mortgage retained on the aforesaid tract of land to secure the payment of the purchase money and interest thereof as fully and completely as though the same had never existed hereby discharging the said William B. Robertson his heirs &c of and from the same forever. In testimony whereof she the said Sydonise Guidreau has hereunto signed by making her ordinary mark not knowing how to write, together with her said husband in presence of Antoine Dupre and Abraham H. Andrus competent witness and before George King Parish Judge in and for the Parish of St. Landry at Opelousas this fourth day of August in the Year one thousand eight hundred and thirty six.
