Lavergnes To Moses Littell Sale of Land Recorded 2d August 1836 This act of Sale made this second day of August one thousand eight hundred and thirty six between Joseph Lavergne Senr. and Joseph Lavergne Junr. of the State of Louisiana and Parish of Lafayette of the first part and Moses Littell of the same State and Parish of St. Landry of the other part Witnesseth that for and in consideration of the sum of four hundred dollars Cash to them in hand paid the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged, the said Joseph Senr. & Joseph Junr. have bargained & sold & do by this act grant bargain sell alien convey set over and deliver unto the said Littell a certain tract of land situated in the South Western district of Louisiana being the North West quarter of Section No. 25 in Township No. Three South of Range Five East and containing one hundred and sixty two 74/100 acres being the same tract heretofore conveyed to Sd. Littell by said Lavergnes. The whole being as [per?] Registers Certificate No. 1560. To have and to hold s[ai]d tract of land to the said Littell his heirs & assigns free from the lawful claims of all persons claiming by through or under them or otherwise. The purchaser dispenses with the certificate required by the 3328th Article of the Louisiana Code. In testimony whereof the said parties have hereunto signed in presence of Christopher Steel and John Bt.
