Robert Reciprocal Sales of Land Recorded 4 June 1836 June 4th 1836 Know all men by these presents that whereas Benjamin Franklin Linton of the State of Louisiana and Parish of St. Landry and Wilson Cook Robert of the same State and Parish became the joint and equal purchasers of two certain tracts of land, the one tract being the West half of the South West quarter of Section No. 29, and the other tract being the East half of North West quarter of the Section numbered thirty two, both in Township number three South of the 31st degree of North Latitude of Range number five East of the basis meridian, in the South Western District of the State of Louisiana, each said tract containing eighty acres or thereabouts. And whereas the said parties have agreed to divide their joint interest in said tracts of Land, the said Robert taking the said first mentioned tract and the said Linton the last mentioned. Now there the said Benjamin F. Linton for himself his heirs &c. has bargained & sold & Does by this act grant bargain, sell, alien convey, set over & deliver unto him the said Wilson Cook Robert his heirs or assigns, his undivided half of said West half of the South west quarter of Section numbered 29, with guarantee of title against the lawful claims of all persons whatsoever. In consideration whereof, he the said Wilson Cook Robert has bargained & sold & does by this act grant, bargain, sell alien convey set over & deliver unto him the said Benjamin F. Linton his heirs & assigns, his the said Robert's interest in the said East half of North West quarter of the Section number 32 in Township &c as aforesaid with guaranty of title against the lawful claims of all persons whatsoever. It being clearly understood that the said tracts of land shall no longer be the joint property of the said Robert and Linton. But the said Robert hereby renounces all claims to the said last mentioned tract in favour [sic] of the said Linton and the said Linton renounces all claims to the said first mentioned tract in favour of the said Robert. The certificate required by the 3328th article of the Louisiana Code is dispensed with by both parties. In testimony whereof they the said Benjamin F. Linton and Wilson Cook Robert have hereunto set their hands & seals at Opelousas in presence of Caleb Green and Benoist Debaillon competent Witness and before George King parish Judge & ex-officio Notary Public in & for the said Parish of St. Landry the day & year above written.
