All rights reserved. http://usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://usgwarchives.net/la/lafiles.htm ********************************************** Eloise Marcantel Widow Fruge To Ursin Miller Sale of Land Passed 20th June 1836 This act of sale passed this twentieth day of June one thousand eight hundred and thirty six between Eloise Marcantel, Widow Fruge of the State of Louisiana & Parish of St. Landry of the one part and Ursin Miller of the same State and parish of the other Part Witnesseth--That for & in consideration of the price & sum of Two hundred dollars Cash in hand paid the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged, the said Widow Fruge has bargained & sold & does hereby grant, bargain, sell, alien, convey, set over and deliver unto the said Miller a certain tract of land situated in the aforesaid parish in the prairie Faiketaique, fronting on the Bayou des Cannes adjoining on one side to the land formerly belonging to Pierre Fruge and on the other side to the Domain, having five arpens front by forty arpens depth. To have & to hold the said tract of land to him the said Miller his heirs & assigns forever. And the title to the said tract of land together with all & singular the buildings & improvements thereon & al its privileges and appurtenances, the said Widow Fruge, to the said Miller his heirs &c does warrant and will forever defend. The purchaser dispenses with the certificate required by the 3328th Article of the Louisiana Code. In testimony whereof the parties have hereunto signed by making their ordinary marks not knowing how to write in presence of Caleb Green Jr. & J. Benoit Debaillon & before George King Parish Judge and ex-officio Notary Public in & for the said Parish of St. Landry the day and year above written.
