Thompson To Patrick Glaze Sale of Land Recorded 25 June 1836 This deed of Sale made this twentieth day of June one thousand eight-hundredand thirty Six between Joseph D. Thompson of the Parish of St.Landry and State of Louisiana & Patrick H. Glaze of the same State and parish of Avoyells [sic]. Witnesseth, that for & in consideration of the price & sum of four thousand dollars Cash in hand paid the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged, the said Thompson has bargained and sold and does by these presents grant bargain, sell, alien, convey, set over & deliver unto him the said Glaze a certain tract of land situated in the parish of Avoyells [sic] and being the South West quarter of Section number twenty three in Township number one South, Range number two East--also another tract of land situated in the same parish being the West half of the South West quarter of Section number twenty four in Township number One South Range number two East, in the South Western land district. To have & to hold the above tracts of land to him the said Glaze his heirs & assigns forever---And the titles to the said tracts of land with all the privileges & appurtenances thereunto the saidThompson, his heirs & assigns will forever defend--and does hereby guarantee. The certificate required by the 3328th Article of the Louisiana Code is dispensed with by the purchaser. In testimony whereof the said parties have hereunto signed in presence of Caleb Green Jr. & Benoit Debaillon & before George King Parish Judge & ex-officio Notary Public in and for said Parish of Saint Landry, the day & year above written.
