MY GUILLORY ROOTS

The Guillory family is very large with many branches. Each branch can be 
connected and relationship found if it is traced back far enough. We have 
been researching one branch of the tree. The ancestors and descendants of 
McKinly GUILLORY and Ella VEILLON of Pine Praine, Louisiana. Both are now 
deceased but have left a great legacy.

Starting with the first Guillory we could find, Francois GUILLORY, born in 
Chateau sur Cher dois de, France in May 1606, died September 1666. Francois
married Anna G. GAIQUN in 1628. They had several children, the one we were 
interested in being Simon GUILLORY, born in France on February 16,1645, or 
1646. Simon married Louise BOUCHARD in June of 1667. Louise was born on 
March 12,1646, also in France and died May 15,1703. Simon and Louise 
immigrated to Montreal, Canada where they both died, he on December 6,1697,
and she on May 15, 1703.

Simon and Louise had several children. The one of interest to us was 
Francois GUILLORY, born June 1676. Francois married Jean MONFORT in 1702. 
Francois and Jean died at Dauphins Island, Alabama, he in December 1731. 
The date of Jean's death is unknown.

Francois GUILLORY and Jean MONFORT had several children one being Joseph
Gregory GUILLORY, born December 16,1712, at Dauphins Island. Joseph Gregory
married Marie Jean LACASSE, born about 1715, on August 20, 1739. She died 
about 1764, and he about 1770, in Mobile. Joseph Gregory and Marie Jean had
a large family, some of the children being born in Mobile and others in 
St. Landry Parish. One son, Lastie GUILLORY was born in Mobile on 
December 22,1754. Lastie married Marie Jean FONTENOT on July 12,1781. 
Marie Jean was born June 6,1766. Lastie died in St. Landry Parish on 
January 3, 1831, and Marie Jean in August 1842.

Lastie GUILLORY and Marie Jean FONTENOT had several children, among them 
was Lastie GUILLORY, II, born October 10,1842. Lastie, II, married Julie 
BARON in St. Landry Parish on January 2,1824. Julie, the daughter of 
Vallery BARON and Marie BORDELON was born on March 6,1805. Lastie, II, 
died on March 7,1853, and Julie on December 6,1877. Among their children 
was Achille GUILLORY, born June 26,1851, in Prairie Rhonde.

Achille married Lenora CHAPMAN (JAKMAN, CHACKMAN, etc.) on March 19,1876.
Lenora was born July 22, 1856. Achille GUILLORY died in Pine Prairie in 
March 1922, and Lenora on June 16,1942. From the marriage of Achille and 
Lenora was born McKinley GUILLORY on September 10, 1901, in Ville Platte. 
McKinley was named for president William McKINLEY who was assassinated 
during his second term as president in 1901. McKinley married Ella VEILLON 
on February 18,1922. Ella, the daughter of Regile VEILLON and Marie ARDOIN 
was born on January 9,1904. McKinley died February 10,1978, and Ella on 
December 5, 1992.

McKinley "Mack" GUILLORY and Ella VEILLON had two children.

1.	Luther GUILLORY, b. 1922; m. Erleane THEME, b. 1920.
        a.  Dextor J. GUILLORY, b. 1950; m. Jenninson MANUEL.
        b.  Janine Marie GUILLORY, b. 1952; m. Eddie ARDOIN.
        c.  Martha GUILLORY, b. 1960; m. Samir TANOIS.
        d.  Francine GUILLORY, b. 1963; m. Daid STEVEN.
        e.  Barry GUILLORY, b. 1961; m. Michelle LATHOVICH.

2.	Leona Marie GUILLORY, b. 1926; m. Millard Jim CONWAY, Jr., b. 1923.
        a.  Betty Carol CONWAY, b. 1950; m. Ben NERREN
        b.  Lynda Grace CONWAY, b. 1951; m. Jerry L. DAVIS.
