Widow’s Application for Pension #1, 1905 State of Louisiana Parish of St. Landry On this 24 day of Oct, 1905, personally appeared before me, ___________, Clerk of the District Court, within and for said Parish and State, Mrs. Adolphe Fall, aged 66 years, a resident of the Parish of St. Landry, Parish of St. Landry, and State of Louisiana, who being duly sworn according to law, declares that she is the widow of Adolphe Fall who entered the service of the Confederate States during the civil war under the name of Adolphe Fall, at Opelousas, La., on the ______ day of April 18___, in Co. A., 28th La Regt (Here state rank, company and regiment, or vessel) from the State of La, that he served honorably until the close of the war at _________ on the _______________; and that he remained true to the Confederate States until, the surrender, at which time he was in Natchitoches, La, as private of Co., A; that she was married to the said soldier under the name of Coralie Leger, on the 10 day of Jany 1856, by Rev. Father Abadie at Grand Coteau, La. that she has not married again, and that she is now in indigent circumstances and unable to earn a livelihood by her own labor or skill, that she is not married or otherwise provided for by the State of Louisiana or by any other State or Government; that he r said husband died on the first day of October, 1871; at Grand Coteau, La, that she has resided in the State of Louisiana for 66 years next preceding the date of this application, and that she claims the aid and benefit of Act No. 73 of 1900 as is further shown by her answers to the following questions which she swears to be true and correct: 1. Under what circumstances did your husband die? Answer: conjestive chill 2. Where is he buried? Answer: Grand Coteau 3. What are your means of support? Answer: by midwifery 4. Volunteers, Capt Edw Toreners, Col, Allen Thomas (Here state rank, company and regiment, or vessel) from the State of La, that he served honorably until the close of the war at Natchitoches, La (Here give where paroled or discharged) on or about the 25th day of May 1865; and that he remained true to the Confederate States until, the surrender, at which time he was in Natchitoches, La, as private soldier; that she was married to the said soldier under the name of Coralie Leger, on the 10 day of Jany 1859, by Rev. Father Abadie Catholic Priest at Sacred heart Church Grand Coteau, La. that she has not married again, and that she is now in indigent circumstances and unable to earn a livelihood by her own labor or skill, that she is not married or otherwise provided for by the State of Louisiana or by any other State or Government; that he r said husband died on the 1st day of October, 1874; at Coulee Croche in the Parish of St. Landry, La, that she has resided in the State of Louisiana for her life years next preceding the date of this application, and that she claims the aid and benefit of Article 303 of the Constitution of 1898and subsequent Acts of the Legislature of the State thereunder as is further shown by her answers to the following questions which she swears to be true and correct: 1. Under what circumstances did your husband die? Answer: He died suddenly from an attack of Conjestive Chills 2. Where is he buried? Answer: At the Catholic Graveyard at Scared Heart Church of Grand Coteau 3. What are your means of support? Answer: non of any kind 4. What is the value of your property, real and personal, if any? Answer: I own no property real or personal 5. Have you conveyed property to any one in the past few years? Answer: I have not 6. In any, How much and to who conveyed? Answer: _____________________ 7.
