WILL be sold at public auction, pursuant to an order of the District Court, by the undersigned administrator, at the plantation of the late Mrs. Amelia M. King deceased, widow of George King deceased, On Wednesday, January 5th, 1859, the following described property, belonging to the succession of said deceased, viz: THE PLANTATION on which the deceased last resided, situated about three miles South of the town of Opelousas, containing about 1430 superficial arpents, with the buildings and improvements, consisting of a fine two-story Dwelling House, a brick Sugar House with Engine and Mill, and two setts of Kettles in Battery, a Gin House with two stands of saws, a new Infirmary, negro quarters, overseer house, Blacksmith shop &c. &c. &c. A TRACT OF LAND, adjoining the above, containing about 300 arpents, superficial measure, more or less. The undivided One Sixth Part of a Tract of Land situated at Mountville, containing 211 arpents. A TRACT OF LAND, situated at the Atchafalaya River, containing 180 26-100 acres. - Description will be given on the day of sale. THE FOLLOWING SLAVES, VIZ: 1. Claiborne, carriage driver, gardiner and filed hand, aged about 40 years, 46. Louisa, his wife, infirm, aged about 33 years, her three children, viz: Sarah, aged about 9 years, Nancy, aged about 4 years, Nelson, aged about 2 years, 47. Richmond, ruptured, field hand, aged about 34 years, 48. Little Ellen, his wife, aged about 27 years, her three children, viz: Little Henry, aged about 9 years, Spencer, aged about 6 years, Caroline, aged about 1 year, 49. Milly, cook and house servant, aged about 40 years. THE FOLLOWING MOVEABLES: 19 American Mules; 8 American Horses; 2 American Mares; 3 American Mares with 4 colts; 10 Yoke of Beeves; About 25 head of Cows (half Durham) with their calves; About 50 head gentle horned cattle; A flock of Sheep, say about 140 head; A lot of Hogs; Waggons, Carts, Corn Mill, Plantation Utensils; Blacksmith and Cooper's tools, &c. &c.; Several thousand Barrels of Corn, which will be sold in lots to suit purchasers; Hay, Fodder, &c.; A lot of Household Furniture; A Barouche, &c. &c. &c.. TERMS AND CONDITIONS: All sums of fifty dollars and under, cash down. The moveables on a credit of one year from the day of sale, provided the amount purchased exceeds fifty dollars. The slaves on a credit of one and two years from the day of sale, payable in equal annual instalments. The plantation and lands on a credit of one, two and three years, payable in equal annual instalments. Purchasers required to furnish notes with personal security in solido to the satisfaction of the administrator, the said notes to be made payable to the order of, and endorsed by, the said purchasers, at the office of Caleb. L. Swayze in the town of Opelousas; the said notes to bear interest at the rate of 8 per cent per annum from maturity. A special mortgage and vendor's privilege will be retained on the lands and slaves until final payment of the price.
