February 13, 1858, Page 1 February 13, 1858 Public Sale. By the undersigned, Public Auctioneer, in and for the Parish of St. Landry. The public are hereby informed that there will be sold at public sale, to the last and highest bidder, by the undersigned, auctioneer, in and for the Parish of St. Landry, at the last residence of David Young, in Prairie Baton Rouge, near Ville Plate, in said parish, on Thursday, the 25th February next, 1858, the following described property, belonging to the community heretofore existing between the late David Young and his surviving widow, Azelie Belair Fontenot, to wit: A TRACT OF PRAIRIE LAND, situated in Prairie Baton Rouge, (Belair's Cove,) containing about two hundred arpents (five arpents front by forty in depth,) and bounded North by Jean Baptiste Lafleur, South by Joseph Belair Fontenot, East by the heirs and widow of David Young, and West by Auguste Jacob Fontenot. A Negro-Woman, named Lisa, aged about 48 years. A Negro-Girl, named Sydnie, aged about 8 years. One lot of hogs, one flock of sheep, two yoke of work oxen, five work and carriage horses, five mares, five mules, farming implements, household furniture, kitchen utensils, &c., &c. Conditions:- All sums under $10, payable the 1st of April 1859; all sums of $10 and above in two equal annual instalments, one half payable the 1st of April 1860, to bear interest at 8 per cent from maturity until paid Purchasers to give good and approved personal security, the land and slaves to remain specially mortgaged.
