Public Sale

By the undersigned, a public auctioneer, in and for the Parish of St. Landry, 
The public are hereby informed that there will be sold, at public sale, to the 
last and highest bidder, by the undersigned, on the plantation hereinafter 
described, in this Parish, on Wednesday, 30th day of May next, the following 
described property, belonging to the Estate of Adeline Fontenot, deceased wife 
of Henri Juge, late of the Parish of St. Landry, to wit:

The Plantation, on which the deceased last resided, situated in Grand Prairie, 
near Ville Plate, in the Parish of St. Landry, measuring forty acres, bounded 
North by Widow Olivier Lafleur, West by Widow Henry Fontenot, and East by the 
same, together with all the Buildings AND IMPROVEMENTS thereon erected.

A Negro Woman, aged about 55 years,

Several horses and mares,

a small lot of cattle,

a lot of hogs,

plantation utensils,

household furniture,

kitchen utensils, &c., &c.

Terms and Conditions: - The land and slave payable on one and two years credit, 
from the day of sale; and the moveable property, all sums under $10 payable 
cash, and upwards of $10, in one and two years, from the day of sale. 
Purchasers furnishing security to the satisfaction of whom the right, and the 
land and slave remaining mortgaged until entire payment of capital and 
interest, at 8 per cent from matury(sic).
