Public Sale

By virtue of an order of the District Court, in and for the parish of St. Landry,
will be sold at public Auction, to the last and highest bidder, on Monday,
3rd. January 1853, the following described property surrendered by
George N. Rogers to his creditors:
A Tract of Land, situated in Prairie Bellevue containing 800 arpens with the
Sugar House; dwelling and all the other improvements thereon, said land,
being bounded on the North by lands of Widow Pierre Thibodeaux, on the 
East by the lands belonging to the inhabitants of Bellevue, on the South by
Benjamin R. Rogers, and on the West by public land.

2.  A negro man named Bacclius, aged about 50 years.
Washington,, a negro man aged thirty years.
Nathaniel, a negro man aged twenty five years.
Elijah, a negro man aged twenty five years.
Presly, a negro man aged twenty three years.
Jerry, a negro man aged thirty five years, rough carpenter.
Louis, a negro man aged twenty years.
William, a negro man aged thirty three years.
Henry, a negro man aged thirty five years.
Kossire, a negro woman aged fifty years.
Jim, a negro boy aged sixteen years.
Harriet, a negro girl aged fourteen years.
Henderson, a negro boy aged ten years.
Anderson, a negro boy aged thirteen years.
Martha, a negro woman, aged twenty two year, and her three children,
	Totu aged seven years, Jacob four years, Sam one year.
Eveline, a negro woman, aged twenty four years, and her three children,
	Mathilda aged eight years, Bob five years and Betsy three years.

Four yoke of oxen, about fifteen head of gentle cattle, one brand figuring thus
(upside down R)R, twelve head of mules, three horses, geldings, three American
blooded mares, three American blooded colts, one 2 year old and the others of 
this spring, a few head of hogs, four ox carts, one horse cart, one four horse
waggon, other farming utensils, household furniture not reserved by law.

Terms and Conditions: ---- So much of the property to be sold for cash, as will
pay the mortgage creditors and the remainder on a credit of one two years, 
purchasers giving personal security to the satisfaction of the syndic and the
lands and slaves remaining specially mortgaged until the full and entire payment
of purchase money and the interest which may accrue thereon at the rate of
eight per cent per annum from maturity until paid.
