December 26, 1857, Page 2 December 26, 1857 Public Sale. By the undersigned, Public Auctioneer, in and for the Parish of St. Landry. The public are hereby informed that there will be sold, at public sale, to the last and highest bidder, by the undersigned, a public auctioneer, in and for the Parish of St. Landry, at the last residence of the deceased, at Flat Town, in said Parish, on Friday, the 15th January next, 1858, the following described property, belonging to the Estate in community heretofore existing between the late Marcelin Garand and his widow, Hyacinthe Vidrine, and those of the Estate of said Marcelin Garand, late of the Parish of St. Landry, to wit: A PLANTATION, situated in Flat Town, consisting in a Plantation House and its dependences, containing one hundred and eighty five arpents of land, a part in cultivation, a part in wood and a part in prairie, bounded on the North by the road from Opelousas to Alexandria, Messrs. Coreil and Daire, Mr. Daire, Messrs. McDavitt & Gober, Mr. William Reed and Mr. Cazaux, on the South by Onezime Guillory, on the Easy by A. Latour, Eloi Vidrine and the Grave Yard, on the West by -- A TRACT OF WOOD AND PRAIRIE LAND, situated in Flat Town, containing about one hundred arpents, bounded on the East by the lands of the above designated plantation, on the West by Jean Baptiste Ortego, on the North by Felix Morin, on the South by Zenon Vidrine fils. A TRACT OF LAND, situated near Flat Town, a part in cultivation, bounded on the North by Messrs. --, on the South by Jean Baptiste Soileau fils and the heirs of Advise Guillory deceased, Couleau's wife, on the East by Andre Zenon Vidrine, on the West by Mr. Latour or Lazarre. 15 SLAVES, of both sexes and different ages, among whom there are several good house servants. One buggy, one wagon, one lot of gentle horned cattle, one lot of wild vachery cattle, one flock of sheep, two yoke of work oxen, work and carriage horses, farming implements, household furniture, kitchen utensils, &c., &c., &c.
