St. Landry Clarion (Opelousas, LA) Aug. 05, 1893, Pg. 3 August 5, 1893
An unfortunate affair occurred at a ball in Anse-aux-Pailles last Monday night 
a week ago. Alcee Manuel became involved in a difficulty with one Lafleur. The 
latter walked into a crowd near by, and Manuel shot at him and killed Pierre 
G. Fontenot. He came to town the next day and surrendered to the Sheriff.
