Dossman, La., May 20th, 1891
Editor Clarion, Opelousas, La. 
Dear Sir:  We the undersigned citizens and voters of the Dossman polling places,
having had our attention called to a card in your valuable paper of truth and
reform, from Dossman post-office, of the 9th inst.  In justice to ourselves and the
voters of this place, and in answer to the avove referred communication, will say
that a large number of voters of this polling place were denied the right to vote at
this poll at the last Democratic primary election, upon the grounds that they (while
living in the precinct, and were known Democrats) had never voted at this poll
before, for which cause the people petitioned for the removal of this polling place.
 The petition sets forth the facts as they are, and among the many signers of
petition appears the name of S. D. Tubre one of the commissioners of the primary
election, at which these infractions upon the election laws were committed by Als.
[?] Dossman.  We are ready to prove what we say and court an investigation.
