I deem it due myself and the citizens at large to publish the said petition verbatim, that all can see what has been endorsed. Permit me to add that to taint of unfairness or undue influence has ever been laid to this banner Democratic box of the parish, and it is due our people to say that not a dollar was ever used to carry this poll -- its sound Democracy being ever above price or suspicion.
