By virtue of an order from the Honorable the District of the State of Louisiana, holding its session in and for the Parish of St. Landry, the public are hereby informed that there will be sold at public sale, to the last and highest bidder, through the ministry, a duly commissioned Auctioneer, at the last residence of said deceased, in Petit Bois in the Parish of St. Landry, about 9 miles from the Town of Opelousas, on Wednesday, the 11th. March next, 1863, the following described property, belonging to the Estate of said Sophie Langlois, deceased widow of Isidore Hollier, late of the Parish of St. Landry, to wit: 4 SLAVES Antoine, negro man, aged about 47 years Josette, negro woman, aged about 36 years Louise, negro woman, aged about 17 years Melite, negro woman, aged about 13 years A small frame house; 3 gentle cows; 8 hogs; A lot of cotton in the seed; 4 bales of cotton; 60 barrels of corn; Plantation implements; Kitchen utensils, and many other articles the enumeration of which would be too tedious. TERMS AND CONDITIONS - All sums of ten dollars and under, payable cash, on the day of the sales; and all sums upwards of ten dollars, payable in three equal annual instalments from the 1st of April next, that is to say, one-third on the 1st of April 1864, one-third on the 1st April 1865, and the remaining third on the 1st of April 1866. Purchasers furnishing their notes with good and sufficient security, to the satisfaction of Octave Hollier, the Administrator; said notes made payable to his order; and all sums not punctually paid at maturity, to bear interests at 8 per cent per annum from time due until paid. And moreover, the slaves remaining specially mortgaged ___ said Estate until full and entire payment ___ capital and interest which may accure thereon.
