Opelousas, Louisiana, February 5, 1853, Vol. 1, No. 9

RUN-AWAY

From the undersigned at Queue Tortue, in this Parish, on the 23rd instant, a
Mulatto-man, named Peter, aged about 25 or 30 years, 6 feet high, and very stout
built, having a scar across the end of the nose, speaking french and english.

I have good reason to believe that said boy runaway with a certain Noe
Huffpower, taking with them two creole horses, one a bay horse, blind of the
right eye, the other a white face bay, both branded about thus: ()l with two
saddles and bridles.

A reasonable reward will be given for the delivery of said boy and horses to the
undersigned, or lodge in one of the jails of this State.

The Pointe Coupee "Echo" and Natchitoches "Chronicle" will publish the above one
month, in french and english, and forward their bill to the "Opelousas Courier".
