Sheriff's Sale
State of Louisiana

Marie A. Boudreau & als. vs. George Miller
District Court, St. Landry No. 5581

By virtue of a writ of fi. fa., issued in the above entitled suit, by the
District Court, 
in and for the parish of St. Landry, and to me directed, will be exposed to public
sale, at the Court House of this parish, on Saturday, the 1st day of January, A.
D.,
1853, at twelve months credit, being the second and last exposure, purchasers
giving bond with security, all the right, title, interest and demand of George
Miller,
in and to the following property, seized to satisfy said writ, to wit:

A certain NEGRO-MAN, named Jacques, aged about fifty-one or two years.
	HARRISON ROGERS, Sheriff
Sheriff's office, St. Landry,
11th December 1852.

NOTE: Fi. Fa. Definition

[Fi. Fa.] = Fieri facias -  Fieri facias is a Latin term that refers to a writ
of execution directing a sheriff to take goods or property of someone against
whom a judgment has been rendered. It is often abbreviated as fi. fa. A judgment
creditor will often record a fi. fa. with county recorder in which the debtor is
believed to own real property. Even though the sheriff may not actually
foreclose on the property, the recorded fi. fa. will be a lien on the property
that may prevent the future sale or refinancing of the property.
