Her husband, Earl Acker, 74, a native of Waco, Texas, died Nov. 30, 1997, in Harper, Texas, where they resided. They were married 53 years in April. Mr. Buller, a resident of Garland, died at 2:40 p.m. Wednesday, December 31, 1997, in Opelousas General Hospital. He was the owner and operator of a General Merchandise Store. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army having served during World War II where he was in the Asiatic-Pacific Campaign. Mr. Buller was a member and Past Commander of the Jasper Neyland American Legion Post #209 in Washington. Mr. Buller was the President of the Garland-Whiteville Water System. He was a member of the St. Landry Parish Soil and Water Conservation Board, served on the Board of Commission for Fire District #3 and was instrumental in the forming of the Fire District #3 in 1960. He served on the board of various hunting clubs and was instrumental in reestablishing wildlife in the area. Mr. Buller was a trustee of St. Agnes Chapel in Garland and a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Washington. Mr. Buller will be best remembered as a St. Landry Parish Police Juror of which he served for 24 years, representing Ward 5 and was the President and Parish Manager of the St. Landry Police Jury for a number of years. Survivors include: his wife, Aline Wilks Buller of Garland; two sons, Paul Ethan Buller of Opelousas and Benedict Marvin Buller of Garland; five daughters, Mrs. Charles Ray (Agnes) LeBlanc of Garland, Mrs. Raynold (Sara) Soileau of Washington; Mrs. Luis (Alida) Lugo of Metairie; Mrs. Charles (Evelina) Soileau of New Iberia and Mrs. Ike (Gail) Boudreaux of LeBeau; 27 grandchildren; and 25 great-grandchildren. Mr. Joseph Willard Hamilton Sr. was born on March 12, 1922, to the union of the late James Granville Hamilton and Elouise Tyler in Lake Charles. He graduated from Sacred Heart High School in Lake Charles in 1943, received his B.S. from Leland College and M.A. from Bishop College in 1955. His post graduate studies were completed at Michigan State University, UCLA Berkley, Brown University and Westleyn University. On June 5, 1948, Mr. Hamilton was joined in Holy Matrimony to Lou Wilda Bertrand. To this union were born three children. Mr. Hamilton was a sharing person with a deep concern for and interest in people. He left a profounding impact upon the lives of many boys and girls as an educator in the St. Landry Parish School System for 32 years. His tenure as an educator began in 1947 after having serviced as a Sgt. in the United States Army from 1943 to 1946. After retiring from the school system Mr. Hamilton achieved his life long dreams of becoming an entrepreneur and founded Hamilton Enterprises, where he served the community as a Notary, Income Tax Preparer, consultant, counselor, political activist, insurance and real estate sales for 20 years. Bestowed with many honors and awards from organizations on both local and national scales, Mr. Hamilton's affiliations include: Frontiers International, Leland College Alumni Association - President, NAACP, St. Landry Parish Coaches Association, J.K. Haynes Foundation, National Education Association, LEA, SLEA, St. Landry Parish Teachers Association, State & National Notary Association, St. Joseph Catholic Church Parish Council - Trustee and Office of Black Catholic Ministries. After graduating from college, Douglas was drafted into the United States Army and served a one year "Tour of Duty" in Vietnam. He began his career in education in 1968 in Evangeline Parish, Basile. Mr. Kimble later began teaching physical education at Lawtell Elementary. It was during this time, that he was able to fulfill his goal of helping children to achieve their potential through his dedication as a coach. His 30 years in education and steadfast commitment inspired the lives of many children to pursue their dreams. He was an active member of the Knights of St. Peter Claver #8 for many years, a member of Upsilon RHO Chapter of Omega PSI PHI and a member of St. Landry Parish Education Association and J.K. Haynes Foundation. Mr. Lafleur was employed with Shell Oil Company for 24 years, Verbis Lafleur Electrical in Opelousas for several years and worked for Guaranty Glass Company in Opelousas at the time of his death. Earl devoted his entire life to his family and friends. Always willing and ready to give a helping hand, he loved to spend time with people. His wonderful smile and warm personality will be sadly missed by all. An avid hunter, Earl enjoyed spending time in the beautiful wooded areas around Acadiana. His other interests included cooking, woodworking and collecting black iron pots. Minnie Warner, 30 Jan 1998 MANNSVILLE, Okla. - Graveside services for Mrs. Minnie Louise Eastman Warner were held at 11 a.m. Wednesday in Mannsville Cemetery here. The Rev. James Watson conducted the services. Mrs. Warner was born May 28, 1933, in Mannsville, she died in her home January 25, 1998 in Davis, Okla. She attended Mannsville High School. On August 21, 1950, she married William Acie Warner in Canton, and they were together 47 years. In 1956 the family moved to Opelousas where she lived for 19 years. During her life time there she worked as a Licensed Practical Nurse for 14 years at Opelousas General Hospital and St. Landry Clinic. She then entered the nursing program at LSU at Eunice and became a Registered Nurse in 1975. She moved to Davis, Okla., in the summer of 1975. Mrs. Warner continued her nursing career at Arbuckle Memorial Hospital, Pauls Valley General Hospital, Ardmore Memorial Hospital and with Dr. Scott Maloney in his private practice at Ardmore. She retired from nursing in 1987. Survivors include: her husband, William Acie Warner of Davis, Okla.; a brother, William Curtis Eastman of Lone Grove; a sister, Betsy Eastman Wilson of Cedar Hill, Texas; an aunt, Betty Beams Tudor of Ardmore; a daughter, Saminthia Louise Warner of Davis, Okla.; four sons, William Franklin Warner of Ardmore, Okla., James Robert Warner and Edwin Louis Warner, both of Springer, Okla., and Hershell Anthony Warner of Clovis, Calif.; ten grandchildren; many more beloved family members and friends.
