E. I. Addison, the veteran publisher of the Abbeville Meridional, died on 
December 10th, after a brief illness. He was a native of St. Landry parish and 
took the helm of the Meridional in 1856. He was a Confederate soldier. His 
remains were laid to rest by old comrades, members of Abbeville Camp No. 607, 
U. C. V., in the Catholic Cemetery.
