PORT BARRE - Funeral services were held today for Mrs. Noah Bellard, 65, who was killed in an accident Sunday near Lebeau. Rites were conducted at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church here. Burial was in the adjacent cemetery. The Church Point Funeral Homes was in charge. Mrs. Bellard was the former Hazel Janisse. She was the third traffic fatality in St. Landry this year. The accident occurred at 1:38 p. m. Sunday when the car in which she was a passenger overturned. Injured in the accident were Elvie Zerangue, 37, of Lake Charles, driver of the car and Mrs. Bellard's son-in-law, and Mrs. Zeramgue. State police said the accident occurred 2 1/2 miles north of Lebeau on La. highway 361 as Zerangue was driving north. All three occupants of the car were thrown from the vehicle. Mrs. Bellard sustained a fractured skull. Zerangue sustained a fractured pelvis and is confined to St. Landry clinic. Mrs. Zerangue escaped with minor bruises. She was not hospitalized. Mrs. Bellard was a native of Church Point and a resident of Port Barre for 25 years. She is survived by her husband: four sons, Sidney, Leonce and Noah, Jr. all of Port Barre, and Charles of Hackberry; and three daughters, Mrs. Zerangue of Lake Charles, Mrs. Robert Bihm of Bunkie, and Mrs. Floyd Spears of Washington. Other survivors are two brothers, Elbert and Euberite Janice (sic) of Beaumont, Tex., 28 grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren.
