Creamer marykcreamer@yahoo.com February 15, 2018, 11:58 pm source: Daily World (Opelousas, Louisiana) Monday, March 10, 2008, page 5 Port Barre — Funeral services for Mr. Isaac Bellard, Sr., age 93, will be held with a Mass of Christian Burial in the Sacred Heart Catholic Heart Church. Interment will follow in the Sacred Heart Cemetery. Father Nicky Trahan will conduct the Mass. Mr. Bellard was a native of the Church Point area, a long-time resident of Port Barre, and was currently residing in Zachary. He died at 6:25 p.m. on Friday, March 7, 2008, in the Lane Regional Medical Center in Zachary. He was a U. S. Army Veteran who proudly served his country in World War II. He was a member of the VFW Post in Port Barre. He was also a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Port Barre. He was also a retired Teamster with Local No. 5. Survivors include four sons: Isaac Bellard, Jr. and wife, Judy of Zachary; Dennis Bellard and wife, Sylvia of Zachary; Rodney Matte and wife, Jeanette of Krotz Springs; Newman Matte and wife, Mary Jane of Zachary; two daughters: Verna Lee Legier and husband, Clarence of Baton Rouge; Janell Overton and husband, Lou of Slaughter; one brother, Leonce Bellard, Sr. of Port Barre; two sisters: Mamie Zerangue of Lake Charles; and Hazel Bihm of Opelousas; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mrs. Amy Richard Bellard; parents: Noah Bellard, Sr. and Hazel Janice Bellard; three brothers: Sidney Bellard, Sr., Noah Bellard, Jr., and Charles Bellard; and one sister, Virginia Bellard. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Sibille Funeral Home of Port Barre.
