DIED. - BIHM - March 31st, 1873, at his residence on Bayou Waxia, in this 
parish, John B. Bihm, in the 57th year of his age.

Resolutions adopted by the Waxia Sabbath School on Sunday, April 6th, 1873:

Whereas, John B. Bihm, Treasurer of the Waxia Sabbath School, has been 
called home by our Almighty Father,

Resolved, That as members of the Sabbath School, we do hereby express our 
deep regret, and heartfelt sorrow at the death of one who, ever since the 
organization of our school, has been a constant and zealous co-laborer in 
its work, cheerfully and liberally responding with heart and hand to every 
call of charity.

Resolved, That as members of the community, we deplore the loss of so good a 
citizen, so kind a neighbor, so true a friend, whose sterling integrity, 
generous impulses and ever open heart, won the esteem and love of all about 
him, and who will be missed by all ages and classes of our neighborhood.

Resolved, That we tender to his afflicted family our sincere and earnest 
sympathy. May Our Father in Heaven sanctify unto the bereaved orphans this 
our great sorrow, and may they in their desolation be given grace to cling 
to His promise to be a father to the fatherless, and may they thus be 
enabled to grieve not as those without hope.

Resolved, that a copy of these resolutions be furnished to the family of our 
deceased friend, and that they be published in the Opelousas Journal.
