Miss Hermina Bodemuller died at the residence of her brother, Rudolph Bodemuller, in Opelousas, on last Monday morning, August 13, 1906, at about 7:30 o'clock, aged 46 years, 4 months and 7 days. The death of this estimable lady was a shock to the community. No tidings of her illness preceded her death, and when the news that "Miss Mena Bodemuller was found dead" became current there was unfeigned sorrow and surprise expressed by everyone. Miss Bodemuller had been indisposed for several days, but nothing serious was indicated. She received medical attention Sunday, and the attending physician did not see any reason for apprehension. She was attended several times in the night, and seemed to be doing well and resting. In the morning at abut 6:30 Mr. Rudolph Bodemuller entered her room, and his sister seemed to be sleeping. Her cousin then entered, and found her apparently resting. She (her cousin) made two more visits to the sick room, and each time the patient was resting in the same position. The third visit, finding her still resting in the same position, she came near the bed, and found that the soul of the apparently resting patient had gone to its Maker. She was cold in death. Miss Bodemuller was a highly esteemed lady, loved by all who knew her for her many sweet traits of character. She leaves three brothers, Mssrs. Rudolph, Emile and Herman Bodemuller, and one sister, Mrs. Luke Hollier, of Abberville. The remains were interred in the Catholic Cemetery at 10 o'clock Tuesday morning, after the funeral rites were solemnized in the Catholic Church.
