(Opelousas, La.) 1878 - 1894, July 28, 1883, Image 5 Dick Bush, a well known old colored man in Opelousas, died this week, He once lived in the parish of Lafourche, and was attached to the 18th La. Regt., during the campaign abouth Corinth, Miss., in 1862, as Col. Bush's body servant. He was the champion fire wood sawyer of Opelousas, and many will miss him. He overheated himself, last Monday, by sawing all day in the sun, and died suddenly Wednesday morning.
