Death of An Old Citizen.

Mr. Emile H. Cahanin, aged 66 years, 4 months and 21 days, died at the 
family residence, in Opelousas, at 3:55, September 16th.

In death of Mr. Cahanin, Opelousas loses one of its venerable citizens. A 
life-long resident, always identified with the interests of this country, he 
was distinctly "one of us," and there was much regret at his demise.

Mr. Cahanin had been engaged in business, in various capacities, for many 
years, and had always been known for strict integrity and square dealing.

He was buried in the Catholic cemetery Monday afternoon at four o'clock. His 
funeral was largely attended.
