Mrs. Gustave Cahanin, aged 53 years, 2 months and 17 days, passed away at 
the family residence, North Court street, last Monday afternoon at about 5 
o'clock. Funeral services and interment took place at the Catholic church 
and cemetery Tuesday evening at 4:30 o'clock.

The deceased had been in ill health some time and her life was long 
despaired of. She leaves to mourn her demise a number of children and a 
large circles of relatives. Her maiden name was Amy and her husband, the 
late Gustave Cahanin, a prominent merchant of Opelousas, died a number of 
years ago.

NOTE: Emma Amy Cahanin is buried in section 3 of the Saint Landry Catholic 
Church cemetery located in Opelousas, St. Landry Parish, Louisiana.
