Mrs. Marguerte Emily Sittig Cahannin

There died at the residence of Mrs. Jos. Lassalle, on last Wednesday 
morning, one of the oldest and most respected ladies of Opelousas, Mrs. 
Marguerite Emily Sittig Cahannin, aged 87 years, 7 months and 17 days. The 
funeral was held Thursday morning, with services at the Catholic church and 
interment in the Catholic cemetery.

Mrs. Cahannin was a native of Opelousas and a member of one of the old 
families of the city. She has spent many years of her life at the home of 
her daughter. She leaves several children, a large number of grandchildren 
and great grandchildren to mourn her passing.

Additional Comments:
Marguerite Emily Sittig Cahannin was the daughter of Dominque Contini Sittig 
and Margaret Hermance Chachere. She is buried in the St. Landry Catholic 
Church cemetery located in Opelousas, St. Landry Parish, LA.
