Lassalle, on last Wednesday morning, one of the oldest and most respected ladies of Opelousas, Mrs. Marguerite Emily Sittig Cahannin, aged 87 years, 7 months and 17 days. The funeral was held Thursday morning, with services at the Catholic church and interment in the Catholic cemetery. Mrs. Cahannin was a native of Opelousas and a member of one of the old families of the city. She has spent many years of her life at the home of her daughter. She leaves several children, a large number of grandchildren and great grandchildren to mourn her passing. Additional Comments: Marguerite Emily Sittig Cahannin was the daughter of Dominque Contini Sittig and Margaret Hermance Chachere.
