DIED.
CARRIERE. - At his residence in Washington, la., on Friday morning, Jan. 18, 1895, 
Gerand Carriere, aged 84 years, 7 months and 11 days.
The news of the death of this venerable citizen will be received with regret by 
his many friends and acquaintances in this parish. It is only a short while since 
his devoted wife preceded him to the grave; but the parting was only of brief 
duration, and they are once more united in that celestial home where happiness and 
peace eternal is their reward. The family has THE CLARION'S sympathy in their 
double bereavement.

Gerand Carriere is buried at the Cedar Hill Cemetery in Washington, St. Landry 
Parish, LA.
