The funeral took place from the residence of his brother T. Geo. Chachere, on East Landry street on Tuesday afternoon at 4 o'clock. Interment in the Protestant cemetery. The deceased was well known in this city where he was born and reared. Though physically afflicted for many years, he kept up the unequal struggle for a livelihood, and succeeded by painful labor, in maintaining his wife and large family of children. Recently he moved his family to Rusk, Texas, where one of his sons had found remunerative employment and where the illness which terminated in his death overtook him. His remains were brought to Opelousas on the Frisco train and interred in the Public cemetery on last Thursday afternoon.
