C. Chachere The first victim was the venerable Mr. T. C. Chachere, "Uncle T. C.," as he was affectionately called by the younger generation who knew him and had learned to love and admire his quiet, peaceful demeanor and his great big kind heart. He died at the residence of his son, Aaron Chachere, in Eunice, on Wednesday, March 24, 1909, aged 76 years, 6 months and 2 days. The funeral services were held in the Catholic Church in Opelousas on Thursday afternoon, March 25, and the interment took place in the Catholic cemetery at this place. He leaves six children to mourn his demise, viz: Jackson, Mrs. Dr. Marsey Brooks, of Acadia; Mrs. T. B. Brooks, of Opelousas; Dr. T. T., Aaron and Gaines. Additional Comments: Theodose C.
