Chachere Sr., 87 , will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday in Immaculate Conception Catholic Church here with burial in Cedar Hill Cemetery. The Rev. Kenneth Mayne, nephew, will conduct the services. Mr. Chachere, a redident of Washington, died at 4.17 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 18, 1996, in Opelousas General Hospital. He was a member of the American Legion of Washington and a veteran of World War II having served in the U.S. Navy. Survivor include: his wife, Verna Stagg Chachere of Washington; two sons, Frank B.Chachere Jr., of Baton Rouge and Daniel E Chachere of Lafayette; a daughter, Carol Ann Preston of Chicago, Ill.; two sisters, Lillian Mayne and June Carriere, both of Opelousas; and 10 grandchildren. Visiting hours will be observed from 5-10 p.m. today and from 8 a.m. Saturday until time of services. A rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. Sibillle Funeral Home of Opelousas is in charge of arrraingements. ...
