Louis Christ, a former resident of this city, but for the past year a merchant in the town of Basile, expired at his home in Evangeline parish, on last Friday night. Mr. Christ was a merchant in this city for a number of years, operating the "Red Store" on the west end of Landry street. When he left here to make his home in Basile he was in good health up to a few months ago, when he contracted what is reported as galloping consumption. Mr. Christ spent sometime in Mexico and other places where he thought that he might be cured of the dreaed (sic) disease, but nothing would do good, so he came back to Basile, there to expire in the midst of his family. The body was brought over the Frisco to this city and interment made in the Catholic cemetery. Additional Comments: NOTE: Louis Christ is buried of the Saint Landry Catholic Church cemetery located in Opelousas, St. Landry Parish, Louisiana. www.findagrave.com memorial # 145694464 File at: http://files.usgwarchives.net/la/stlandry/obits/c/christ5754gob.txt This file has been created by a form at http://www.genrecords.org/lafiles/ File size: 1.6 Kb
