DEJEAN JOIN GREAT MAJORITY IN THE PAST WEEK. Surrounded by his loving and sorrowing family Mr. Ernest J. Dejean succumbed to a long and painful illness on the 6th instant, and his remains were interred in the Catholic cemetery last Sunday afternoon. A large concourse of friends attended the burial services at the Catholic church and followed his remains to the cemetery. No man in this section was more esteemed and loved than Mr. Dejean. His kindly disposition and upright character had won for him a tender place in the affections of our people in whose midst he was born and reared. Though a sufferer from an incurable disease for many years, he never failed to meet his friends with a smile and kindly words of greeting. He was modest, gentle and tender in all his social relations, and, as a husband and father he more than fulfilled every duty. Without enemies, and esteem of every one, his death will leave a void in our midst hard, indeed, to fill, and the Clarion tenders its sincere condolence to his grief-stricken wife and children. Additional Comments: NOTE: Ernest J. Dejean is buried at the Saint Landry Catholic Church cemetery located in Opelousas, St. Landry Parish, Louisiana. www.findagrave.com memorial # 143691506 File at: http://files.usgwarchives.net/la/stlandry/obits/d/dejean5620gob.txt This file has been created by a form at http://www.genrecords.org/lafiles/ File size: 1.9 Kb
