The funeral was held the same afternoon, with services and interment in the Catholic church and cemetery. Miss Dejean had been ill for quite a time, and owing to her age and enfeebled condition hopes of her weathering the illness were not entertained. She was a member of one of St. Landry's most prominent families, and was a daughter of the late Felix A. Dejean, who passed away many years ago. She numbered her friends by the score and her absence in this community will be keenly felt by the many who knew and loved her. We extend our syspathies (sic) to the relatives of the deceased.
