MISS ALINE DELARUE Departed this life Friday evening, May 28th, 1920, Marie Aline Delarue of whom it might well be said: "She laid up in Heaven a fortune in deeds of kindness and has now gone thither to enjoy it." Aline lived all of her life in Opelousas where she endeared herself to all who knew her - and they were legion - by her clever good fellowship, her hospitality, her constant thought for others, her devotion to those near to her, her interest in and for the bereaved and afflicted, her acts of willing charity and the sweet womanliness of her personality. Having lost her mother in her girlhood, Aline easily assumed the responsibilities of home making, and only those intimate with that home know how truly pleasant and charming she made it. She was gifted with all the graces of true hospitality and homeliness of her house and the unstinted warmth of her welcome were things to remember. Always considerate of guests, fun loving and intent upon their pleasure, she was the ideal hostess, and many who grieve for her untimely passing away will recall, in sweet sadness, happy hours spent in her home. Loved ever for her qualities of mind and heart, it was in her last sad illness that her fine character stood in its full glory and lovableness. Stricken nine months ago with an incurable malady, her courage, the wonder of her resignation, the might of her steadfast faith, her appreciation of the loving care of the devoted one, who attended her, and her continual thought for those about her made a daily miracle to the priviledged ones who saw her. She was laid to rest near the tomb of her mother in the Catholic cemetery, to wait that reunion with dear ones to which she looked forward. And daily and hourly we miss her.
