NECROLOGY. - Dr. Martin E. Demaret died, after a brief illness, at his 
residence in Washington, at 1 o'clock on last Monday morning, aged 58 years 
and 6 months.
The deceased was a native of Franklin, St. Mary parish, but had been a 
resident and practitioner of medicine in this parish for the past thirty 
years. The doctor had a wide circle of friends and patrons and was held in 
high esteem both as a physician and citizen. He was buried in the Catholic 
Cemetery at Washington, on last Tuesday, the 2d. inst.
