The funeral was held the following day with services at the Catholic Church and interment in the Catholic cemetery. The deceased, by dint of many years of work at his trade as a brickmason, close attention to business and the use of splendid judgement in the conservation of his earnings, accumulated some property which he leaves now to his children. Sober and reliable, he won the respect of everyone in this community and his death leaves a vacacy in the ranks of the colored people which will be hard to fill. Additional Comments: Emile Donato is buried in section 15 in the St. Landry Catholic Church cemetery located in Opelousas, St. Landry Parish, Louisiana. www.findagrave.com memorial # 122011305 File at: http://files.usgwarchives.net/la/stlandry/obits/d/donato5504gob.txt This file has been created by a form at http://www.genrecords.org/lafiles/ File size: 1.5 Kb
