The funeral was held Thursday morning with services and interment at the Catholic church and cemetery. The deceased had been ill for more than a year, but through all she held up in a remarkable manner, her mental vision being as clear as of old, and she was perfectly conscious up to the last. The surviving relatives are an only brother, Joseph Ducharme, and two sisters, Mr. F. F. Perrodin of Rayne, formerly of Opelousas; and Mrs. Reed, who resided with the deceased and only brother. Miss Ducharme was a native and life-long resident of Opelousas and a member of a once large family all of whom have died with the exception of the three above named. Quiet and unostentatious, she had the love and respect of friends and neighbors, and her death is a sad blow to all who knew her. Her father died about twenty years ago, at a very ripe age, He was a native of Canada and the family was closely related to the Ducharme family of Canada and France. Additional Comments: NOTE: Ernestine Ducharme is buried in section 10 of the Saint Landry Catholic Church cemetery located in Opelousas, St. Landry Parish, Louisiana. www.findagrave.com memorial # 113044694 File at: http://files.usgwarchives.net/la/stlandry/obits/d/ducharme5634gob.txt This file has been created by a form at http://www.genrecords.org/lafiles/ File size: 2.0 Kb
