We are deeply pained to have to announce the sad death of one of our most 
eminent citizens - Lucius J. Dupre - which occurred at his residence, in our 
town, yesterday morning at 4 o'clock. Judge Dupre was suddenly prostrated by a 
crushing stroke of paralysis, on last Monday morning, and was speechless, 
though apparently not unconscious, from that moment up to the hour of his 
death.

The death of Judge Dupre will long be mourned in our community, where he has 
left a host of friends and many relatives who loved and admired him.

Additional Comments:
Hon. Lucius Jacques Dupre is buried in section 7 of the Saint Landry Catholic 
Church cemetery located in Opelousas, St. Landry Parish, Louisiana.
