Mr. Alcide Dupre, a prosperous farmer of Prairie Rond met with a terrible accident on Tuesday evening: this young farmer was kicked by his horse on the side, dying the next morning. Mr. Dupre was but a young man, being scarcely over forty years of age, but during his short life his every deed and action were stepping stones to success, he had not amassed a great fortune, but what he had was there and that was plenty for his need. He was a peaceful citizen and the Prairie Ronde people will miss him a great deal. It was indeed a fatal accident which was the cause of the death of this gentleman. For some unknown reason the horse got furiated and kicked Mr. Dupre in his side, below the liver. Medical aid was immediately gotten, but nothing could be done, the victim of the tragedy expiring at three o'clock on Wednesday morning. Additional Comments: Note: Alcide Dupre is buried at Saint Andrews cemetery located in Plaisance, St. Landry Parish, LA. www.findagrave.com memorial # 104894813 File at: http://files.usgwarchives.net/la/stlandry/obits/d/dupre5741gob.txt This file has been created by a form at http://www.genrecords.org/lafiles/ File size: 1.7 Kb
