Creamer marykcreamer@yahoo.com August 2, 2015, 10:51 pm St. Landry Clarion. (Opelousas, La.) 1890-1921, May 30, 1914, Image 2 Old Confederate Veteran Dead. Mr. Auguste Dupuy, aged 78 years and 8 months, and old confederate soldier expired at his home in this city on Monday night at 10:15 o'clock. Mr. Dupuy was buried in the Protestant cemetery after the funeral ceremonies at the Methodist church, on Tuesday evening at 5 o'clock. Most of the members of R. E. Lee Camp No. 14, U. C. V. of which organization Mr. Dupuy was a member and several members of Gordon Chapter No. 1470 were present at the funeral rites, besides a large concourse of friends of the deceased.
