The sad news reached us Thursday evening that Clayton Duson, the genial and 
promising young son of Hon. C. C. Duson, died at Ashville, N. C., on the 23d 
inst. Death is sad at all times, but when the Pale Archer selects youth as its 
victim it is doubly so. It would be but hollow mockery to offer our friend 
consolation at this sad bereavement, but the Courier extends its sympathy and 
joins the family in its grief.
