St. Landry Clarion (Opelousas, La.) 1890-1921, October 19, 1918, Image 2

Mrs. J. H. Edwards, wife of J. Henry Edwards, died last Sunday at the family 
home in Alexandria. The funeral took place Monday morning. The deceased was a 
victim of the prevailing maladt, influenza.

She leaves a husband and four children and her parents. Mrs. Edwards visited 
Opelousas several years ago and won a host of friends. Her husband is a half-
brother to Miss Daisy Edwards, Mrs. R. B. Chachere and Messrs. George T., H. 
Bert, Roy and Clifford J. Edwards, the latter two being in the service of Uncle 
Sam. To her bereaved husband, children, parents and other relatives, The 
Clarion expresses its deepest sympathy.
