DIED. - ESTILETTE. - At the family residence in Opelousas, on Friday, Nov. 
5, 1897, Fannie B. Estilette, wife of E. D. Estilette, aged 63 years, 1 
month and 27 days.

The deceased, Fannie Thompson Bacon, was a native of New Haven, Conn., where 
she was married to Hon. E. D. Estilette Nov. 11th, 1857, he having at that 
date just graduated from Tale College. Soon after their marriage they came 
to the parish of St. Landry, the birth place of her husband, and they have 
continuously resided at or near Opelousas up to the present time. Four 
children were born of their union, only one of whom, Julia B. Estilette, the 
wife of Hon. G. L. Dupre, is living, their eldest E. D. Estilette, Jr., a 
youth of very bright promise, having died in his seventeenth year.

The Bacon family enjoy a high social position in New Haven and the deceased 
had all of the advantages which the best society and educational 
institutions could confer, and which developed her into a woman of 
exceptional intelligence and culture.

For many years past Mrs. Estilette has been a invalid but has born her 
suffering with great fortitude and patience. She passed away quietly, deeply 
regretted and beloved by a family circle all of whom administered tenderly 
and constantly to her sufferings. To her bereaved husband and family the 
Clarion tenders its sincere condolance.

in Opelousas, St. Landry Parish, LA.
