Mr. Paul P. Fontenot, aged sixty-four years, died at L'Anse Bleu, St. Landry parish, on Thursday, July 4th. Deceased was one of the good old Creoles of our parish, and leaves behind a host of friends and relatives who deeply mourn his loss. He had been a sufferer from cancer for the past year, and had submitted to two operations and had exhausted all other means to rid himself of the dread disease, but without avail, and now he rests with his Maker, free from suffering. Mr. Fontenot leaves a widow and four children. The children are Willis P. Fontenot, Mrs. Paul J. B. Fontenot, Mrs. Theogene Fontenot, and Miss Alice Fontenot, the latter his youngest daughter, who was living with him at the time of his death. He received the last Sacrament of the Catholic Church, and his remains were interred in the Catholic cemetery at Chataignier. May peace be his everlasting rest. A FRIEND.
