Creamer marykcreamer@yahoo.com August 13, 2015, 11:15 pm St. Landry Clarion (Opelousas, La.) 1890-1921, July 26, 1902, Image 1 - Evariste Franchebois, a highly esteemed citizen of Bellevue, died at his home on Tuesday. "Uncle 'Variste" was a good man and a gallant soldier during the late war between the States, and his death came as a shock to his friends throughout the parish. He leaves a family of several children, all grown, and all splendid citizens. He was interred in the Catholic cemetery in Opelousas.
