Gay - On Sunday, August 1st relatives and friends gathered at the home of Mr. Albert Richard to pay their last sad respects to Rodney G. Gay, who had passed into the Great Beyond at 8:30 o'clock Saturday morning in the town of St. Landry, at which place he was the manager of the Holly Grove Lumber Co. The love and respect in which he was held here, was demonstrated by the many friends who accompanied his body to Washington, his childhood home. [next part typed exactly as it appears in the newspaper] He was liam E. Gay. He was married several 31 years old the son of Delia Myles who survives him, and the late Wil- years ago to Delia Estelle Richard of Gold Dust, whom he leaves with a daughter, Estelle to mourn his loss. He also leaves one brother of this place William B. Gay, and several; sisters. There was no dearth (sic) of tears over his still body for his gentle, sweet disposition had made him doubly dear to his wife, poor feeble old mother, only brother and sister and many friends; those who knew him best loved him most. His going has left a vacant place which can never be filled. His body lies beside that of his father in peaceful "Cedar Hill Cemetery." His spirit is with Him who said "I am the ressurection (sic) and the life; he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall live." Additional Comments: NOTE: Rodney G. Gay is buried in the Cedar Hill Cemetery located in Washington, St. Landry Parish, LA. www.findagrave.com memorial # 94877259 File at: http://files.usgwarchives.net/la/stlandry/obits/g/gay5671gob.txt This file has been created by a form at http://www.genrecords.org/lafiles/ File size: 2.1 Kb
