The Opelousas Courier (Opelousas, La.) 1852-1910, October 22, 1887, Image 1

Col. J. C. Gillespie, and old and highly esteemed citizen of this parish, died 
at the residence of his grand-daughter, Mrs. B. R. Splane, near town Thursday. 
His remains were taken to Texas for interment.

Additional Comments:
NOTE: Col. J. C. Gillespie is buried at the Bryan City Cemetery, Plot: Block 3 
Lot 22/ H, located in Bryan, Brazos County, TX.
